Here’s the newest fitness band in the market by Xiaomi, Mi band HRX edition. After Mi band and Mi band 2, Xiaomi is back with another band in collaboration the superstar known for his fitness, Hrithik Roshan, Xiaomi seems to be taking every step in the right direction.

Now this band is identical to the previous one the Mi band 2, except that this one doesn’t have a heart rate sensor. Including the display, the dimension, and the battery capacity is just the same. The tracker weighs just 7 grams and even with the band on it feels really light and comfy on the wrist, again just like the Mi band 2. There’s a capacitive key on the front for the navigation, a 0.42 inch display which is made of an OLED panel that’s is very crisp and extremely power efficient.

Xiaomi claims the Mi band HRX edition can last up to 23 days on a single charge. The additional three days of battery life from the MI band 2 is thanks to the lack of heart rate sensor here. It’s worth noting that just like the Mi band 2 this one’s water resistant with IP67 rating.

It can sync with Android 4.4 or later and Apple smartphones running on iOS 7 or later. You just have to download the Mi Fit app from the playstore or the App store and sign in to your Mi account. The app itself is also pretty simple to use. It shows you the battery level of the band on your smartphone’s screen, history for stats, step counts, activity time, distance walked and calories burned.

You can view the current day stats on the band, it gets reset at 12.00 am every day. Activity goals can be set and if you enable the idle alert the band will alert you by vibrating if you’ve been inactive for way too much of time. If you already owned a Mi band 2, and got this HRX edition, do remember to unpair the previous band first.

Moving on to some smart-watch like features, you can set the band to alert you during phone calls, set silent alarm which makes the band vibrate when the alarm goes off, this is a neat little feature that was also present on the Mi band too. You can set for Twitter or Facebook notification, emails, SMS and so on. These all will take very little time to customize the band according to your convenience.
