Cannot access FTP sites in Internet Explorer 8

Titles says everything what meant to say here. Very short question. I am unable to access any FTP sites on my Internet explorer 8. I even tried resetting the browser but no success. Could you guys please make me know what is the problem and how can I solve it ?

See whenever you will go and access an FTP site. The IE will try to display the FTP site in the HTML view.

• All you have to do is go to the IE 8.
• Then click tool option.
• Then click on internet option.
• Then select the advanced option.
• Then later on you will find an option for Enable FTP folder view which will be outside of internet explorer. These you have to enable, that’s it.

Thanks a lot friend, though there is no success yet. I went through IE 8 security setting then reset it to default. Yet the same problem.

I have been through this problem before, but it was due to some problem with registry. In my case I fixed it by exporting the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ftp key from other computer which was working perfect and importing these to the broken one. But first the most important thing is that you have to create a back up. Don’t forget to back up the registry on the broken computer.
