When it comes to the gaming platforms, Steam tops the result. Thousands of video games are added to Steam each day. It is still the first choice of majority of gamers. But, there are few popular video games that have been removed from Steam and left the gamers wondering about why they’ve been taken off.

It was a hack and slash type of game. The reason for the removal of the game from Steam is the expiration of the contract between Marvel and Activision.

2. The Walking Dead: The Final Season

The Walking Dead is one of the most popular video games of all times. Surprisingly, the final season of this infamous video game has been removed from the steam. The reason was Tellltale Games has closed down in between the production of the final episodes. Later the final episodes were released by Skybound games. The final two episodes were then released exclusively on Epic Games Store.

3. Codemasters Dirt 3

Codemasters Dirt 3 is another video game that was taken off the Steam platform. It is a racing video game which is developed and published by Codemasters. It is the eighth release of the CollinMacRae Rally series. Although, there were no clear reasons that why the game was removed but it was concluded that their license has been expired and could not be sold any longer.

4. Ride To Hell: Retribution

Ride To Hell: Retribution was a action-adventure game which was full of bike riding and combats. It was developed by Eutechnyx. Surprisingly, this game didn’t even made it to the release at first. It got cancelled into its development phase. Later, it was released in 2013, but didn’t turn out to be good or rather considered as the worst video game. It has bombarded with negative reviews from critics and hence, Steam removed it.

5. Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus was one of the games that was not removed actually but Steam didn’t managed to keep it. The reason behind this was the Steam vs Epic Store blunder. At the first place, Metro Exodus was meant to be available exclusively on Steam but it was released over number of platforms except Steam because of Epic Games Store. Epic Games Store successfully competed against all and got hands on a number of video games including Metro Exodus to be launched exclusively on their storefront. Hence, the game was grabbed from Steam by the Epic Games Store.
